Focusing on private mansion bathrooms built between 1890 and 1910, this lecture will explore issues surrounding bathroom preservation and interpretation in the historic house museum today.
Reuse Reconsidered is an interdisciplinary conference that seeks to unite scholars, from graduate students to senior faculty members, that study a variety of time periods, cultures, and types of reuse.
Wrapping up my year as Research Fellow with The Preservation Society of Newport County, this lecture will serve as a final presentation of my research and findings on the topic of Gilded Age bathrooms.
